She was engaged as a supply ship to the Danish bases on the east coast of Greenland on this voyage. "Polaris" was engaged as a supply ship for the first time only one year old - thereafter regularly every summer until the Danes got a ship of their own - the M/S "Kista Dan" - fit for this tough servicee on the east coast of Greenland.
